Aqila is a dedicated licensed marriage and family therapist (LMFT) with extensive experience in clinical treatment for diverse populations. She values collaborative goal-oriented therapy where she and the client work together to identify and reach the client’s desired wellness. Aqila has expertise in improving anxiety, depression, behavior, communication, and relationships.
Aqila started her mental health service to children, adults, and families in 2007. She has provided ABA to autistic youth and worked in a variety of community outpatient centers with diverse populations including neurodiverse families. Before joining Cortica, Aqila served with Kaiser Permanente for 6 years, first as a therapist and then as a quality review consultant. She is skilled in a variety of evidenced-based therapies, consultation, coaching, training, research, program development, and quality management. She holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Loyola Marymount University and a master’s degree in clinical psychology from California State University, Fullerton. Aqila is passionate about providing quality care that empowers children, families, and communities to thrive.
